After a gap of six years, Yorkshire Voices return to Leeds Town Hall to present Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis on Saturday 11 June.

Joined by the Manchester Camerata, Yorkshire Voices performs Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis which is considered one of the most significant Mass settings ever composed and took the composer four years to complete! This piece has not been performed in Leeds Town Hall for thirteen years, so here is a rare opportunity to experience what is recognised as one of Beethoven’s supreme achievements!

Yorkshire Voices brings together two of the region’s finest choirs, The Harrogate Choral Society and Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir, who are joined by four outstanding soloists including tenor Ben Thapa, a founding member of the classical pop band G4, and one of Europe’s leading chamber orchestras, the Manchester Camerata. All in all, a concert showcasing the finest musicians the North has to offer.

Conductor Andrew Padmore is popular among choirs and orchestras internationally and has long been a leading figure in the choral world. Andrew studied conducting under Sir Adrian Boult, and went on to be director of music in a school and two cathedrals before deciding to concentrate on choral and orchestral conducting. Since then performances, masterclasses and workshops have taken Andrew to schools, colleges and universities in the UK and as far afield as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Kenya and Zimbabwe.

Tickets for Yorkshire Voices are priced £12.50-£33.50 (concessions available) and are available from the Box Office on 0113 376 0318
