LEEDS INDIE FOOD FESTIVAL

Leeds Indie Food Festival kicks off this week, bringing an abundance of unique events, experiences and collaborations to the city for its fifth year. Whilst a host of events have already sold out, there’s still plenty of opportunities to get a slice of the action from family-friendly events to foodie film experiences and vegan dinners.

Leeds Indie Food 2019 sees some of our most intriguing and ambitious events. From Chefs Hands gallery, showing casing an amazing gallery of Chefs Hands, launch of new beers (Little Bao Boy first beer with North Brew Co, To Plant Styles launching their new night. Experts of Beer and Wine meet at Bundobust, Porthouse Cake Co will also launch her bakery on the opening Friday night of the festival. #EatNorth takes on themes during the festival with Sea themed and Vegan version and finally a Bank holiday special. Taco Tuesday returns to Laynes. Family Den Building and workshops on Seiten making, spice blending and food photography. The most intriguing event is Hands On Sensuality, which lets you explore a ten-course tasting menu served on your hands. Free to attend events include School Diner, The Pizza and Prosecco Festival, Waterlane Boathouse Feast and The Northern Food Fight at Northern Monk. Bloody Big Brunch will see the city try and address period poverty, a brunch in which you need to pay for entry with providing period products.

Newcomers to the festival are Vice And Virtue, Moortown Kitchen, Janes Lawson, Spice and Green, Kachumber Kitchen, Copper Spoon Cakery and more

Collaboration Menus from Tapped Pizza (teaming up with Bundobust and Doner Summer), Whitelocks Yorkshire Pudding menu (Neon Cactus, The Brunswick), Bluebird Bakery (Banh & Mee., Owt and Manjits Kitchen), fettle (teaming up with Tarbetts) , Sebby’s teaming up with Luigi Street Food/ Growing Better and also Frankly Delicious and The NuMylk.

Leeds Cocktail Hours – Sunday to Thursday 5pm-7pm during the festival include, Poison Cocktail Lounge, Hedonist, The Wardrobe, Brotherhood, cuckoo, Call Lane Social, Tiki Hideaway, Neon Cactus all showcasing the collaborations of the bars.
