THE CHICAGO BLUES BROTHERS are the world’s No. 1 Blues Brothers tribute band – and they’re bringing their sensational soul revue, MOTOWN MISSION to Leeds City Varieties Music Hall on September 14th. This hugely entertaining all-singing, all-dancing two hour songfest is performed by a brilliant 9-piece band fronted by singers Chris Hindle and Gareth Davey – as the fun-loving, song-totin’ brothers, Jake and Elwood Blues – the roles made famous by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd in the cult film classic, The Blues Brothers.
Jake ‘n’ Elwood will take the Leeds audience through a high energy show that includes many of the songs from the film and a ton of showstopping soul songs of the 1960s 70s and 80s including Sam and Dave’s ‘Hold On, I’m Coming’, The Temptations’ ‘Papa Was A Rolling Stone’, Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect’, Ray Charles’ ‘Shake a Tail Feather’, ‘Dancing In The Street’ by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and a fabulous, roof raising medley of Stevie Wonder songs. Phew! Take your dancing shoes and your flares – it’s gonna be hot in there!
Says Chris Hindle/Jake Blues: “We can’t wait to perform at the City Varieties Music Hall – it’s legendary!”
