These school holidays McArthurGlen York Designer Outlet is introducing a host of free fun activities to keep the kids entertained throughout the holidays. Each week will see new free activities arriving in the centre, from creative workshops to tea parties, all inspired by the theme of the great British garden.
Alongside a programme of arts and crafts, there will be garden games for all the family available all summer long. This will include giant Jenga and Connect 4, as well as regular colouring competitions for the little ones.
Take a peek at our full schedule of fun for your diaries this summer…
Fun in the Garden Make & Believe Workshop – Thursday 4th August
Create and decorate a pretty pinwheel spinner, perfect for catching a summer breeze in the garden. We’ll also have the comedy chaps Gardener’s Question Time entertaining around the centre – keep an eye out for them.
Garden Tea Party – Thursday 11th August
Everyone loves cake, which is why we’ll be celebrating summer with a Garden Tea Party. Kids can come and enjoy our cupcake decorating classes and participating adults will get a voucher for a free cup of tea, all whilst being entertained by the dynamic duo – The Cake Ladies.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic Thursday 18th August
Let Teddy join in the fun on the 18th – come along to our story telling session and Teddy Bear’s Picnic, where you might even see a real life teddy or two courtesy of Hamley’s and Build-a-Bear.
Bring on the Sun! – Thursday 25th August
See if we can wish summer to stay a little bit longer by designing and making your very own sun catcher.
Bank Holiday Monday Music – Monday 29th August
The summer holidays may be drawing to a close but there’s still fun to be had at York Designer Outlet, as we welcome a fabulous local three piece band playing infectious summer tunes.
In addition, there will be tasty treats available in the form of free frozen yoghurt samples available from Yogi to children taking part in the garden trail, whilst at kitchen favourite Denby children can paint a ceramic frog to take home for their garden.
