If you want to try some gin cocktails with a strong local flavour then read on..
These cocktails are made using Sing Gin. The gin hails from North Yorkshire and aims to capture t he spiit of the Yorkshire Dales and is named after the village where it is made in Kettlesing, North Yorkshire.
Made by a family run business it is made from grape rather than grain by the family team of gin makers. It has a smooth flavour that is set off using seven hand crushed botanicals including mint, orange peel and flax the latter which they grow on site.
So for a truly home grown Yorkshire cocktail Sing Gin has created some cocktails to tempt the gin lovers tastebuds over the Christmas season.
ROSE GIN FIZZ
35ML Sing Gin, 25ml Rose Water, 25ml Grapefruit Juice, 10 ml Lemon Juice, Top with Sparkling Wine or Champagne
Combine gin, lemon juice, rosewater and grapefruit in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a flute glass. Top with chilled sparkling wine or Champagne. Garnish with rosemary sprig.
HOT TODDY( Pictured above)
35ML Sing Gin, 15ml Honey, 25ml fresh lemon juice, 10ml raspberry shrub (sweeter). Top with boiling water.
Bring one cinnamon stick and three star anise to the boil in 150ml water. Stir in the honey to dissolve.
Add gin, lemon juice and raspberry shrub and stir. Remove from heat and strain into a heat proof glass or mug. Garnish with an orange wheel.
SPICE PEAR GIN
35ML Sing Gin, 15ml Fresh Lemon Juice, 50ml Pear Syrup. Top with Soda
Combine gin, lemon juice, pearl syrup in an ice filled cocktail shaker. Shake Well and strain into an old fashioned glass.
Top with soda water and stir. Garnish with sliced pear and thyme sprig.
