Twenty world renowned singing groups from across the North of England and Wales will compete in Choir of the Year 2016, Leeds Auditions on Sunday 13 March.
Voices will include local heroes and current European ladies’ barbershop champions, The White Rosettes
Other famous choirs auditioning in Leeds include Britain’s Got Talent 2015 Finalists, Cor Glanaethwy, who return to the stage to compete alongside international award winning singers, Barnsley Youth Choir
Expert judges include Stephen Connolly, Robert Hollingsworth and the event will be presented by David Lawrence
Twenty talented singing groups with singers aged from six-90 will be performing diverse repertoire spanning classical and contemporary choral music, pop arrangements and songs from around the world in an action packed day – including the opportunity for audience members to sing along with TV conductor Greg Beardsell.
The competition is the largest and most prestigious of its kind in the UK and this year the very best singing groups will compete for the accolade ‘Choir of the Year 2016’. The Auditions are held at venues across the UK with only the very best choirs making it through to the Category Finals at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on 16 October and Grand Final at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff on 3 December.
