Leeds Waterfront Festival returns next weekend, Saturday 29 and 30 June. This annual event has grown year on year. Attracting nearly 25,00- visitors last year, and with four sites this year, it has become the biggest waterfront festival in the north.
This year it looks set to make a bigger splash than ever with a bumper packed programme of new activities for all the family. Peak times for activities will be 10.00am to 5.00pm each day with the Tetley Art Gallery joining the celebrations to create a fourth city centre waterside hub, alongside Brewery Wharf, Granary Wharf and Leeds Dock.
The festival is organised by Canal and River Trust, the waterway and well being charity that looks after Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the Aire and Calder Navigation and other organisations with support from a host of volunteers. Together these groups and individuals are helping to celebrate all that is good about the city’s waterfront and emerging south bank.
