The Furnace Festival is the Playhouse’s engine room so to speak. It’s where they develop audacious artistic voices and vital new theatre for the stage.
The Furnace Festival is annual celebration of this work from the first spark of an idea to multi-award winning shows visiting Leeds for the first time.
This year the festival has been stripped back to reflect the dynamism of the Pop-Up Theatre. Two plays are at the heart of the festival Salt by Selina Thompson (2/3 October) and Blackthorn by Charley Miles (4/6 October.
