The wait is over – Leeds audiences no longer need to ‘have a Little patience’ – The Band, a new musical featuring the music of Take That, is set to run at Leeds Grand Theatre from Tuesday 20 to Saturday 31 March 2018.
Written by Olivier Award-winner, Tim Firth, and produced by David Pugh, Dafydd Rogers and Take That’s Gary Barlow, The Bandisthe powerful story of a boyband, five female fans, and how the music becomes the soundtrack to, and has a profound affect, on each of their lives. Fellow Take That members Howard Donald, Mark Owen and ex-member Robbie Williams also produce.
It’s 1992 and for five 16-year-old girls, ‘The Band’ is everything. Twenty-Five years on, the once inseparable, and now 40-something women, are reunited as they try once more to fulfil their dream of meeting their heroes.
Featuring classic Taker That songs, including‘Never Forget’, ‘Back for Good’,‘The Flood’, ‘Shine’and‘Rule the World’, The Band starsAJ Bentley, Nick Carsberg, Curtis T Johns (Leeds-born), YazdanQafouri and Sario Solomon, collectively known as Five To Five, winners of BBC’s Let it Shine.
