Leeds Chinese Community School and musicians who perform traditional music from China celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Dog at Leeds Town Hall in a concert on Monday 5 February.
This exciting concert showcases music performed by the Chinese Traditional Music Orchestra – an orchestra consisting of 60 talented young people originating from Guang Zhou, China. Local artists join forces with youth music groups to perform and celebrate this remarkable occasion. This is a fantastic introduction into the world of the traditional Chinese orchestra.
The audience will appreciate the fascinating shapes of traditional Chinese instruments, experience authentic Chinese music, song, dance and culture, and join together to celebrate the diversity of Chinese and Western music.
Leeds Chinese Community School was established in 1966. It is an award-winning Chinese supplementary school within the Leeds City region. The school is run entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers and each year their pupils achieve outstanding results in their GCSE and A Level exams.
Tickets are available from the City Centre Box Office on 0113 376 0318 .
