Celebrate Christmas at the Lord Mayor’s annual family carol concerts on Thursday 14 December at Leeds Town Hall.
Leeds Philharmonic Chorus and Rothwell Temperance Band perform carols introduced and conducted by Dr Simon Lindley for all to sing, with proceeds going to the Candlelighters, a charity which supports families across Yorkshire facing children’s cancer .
Leeds Philharmonic Chorus has performed in prestigious venues across the country including Leeds Town Hall, Birmingham’s Symphony Hall and the Royal Albert Hall in London. It gives performances each year as part of Leeds International Orchestral Season and regularly premieres works by composers such as Geoffrey Burgon and Donald Hunt.
Rothwell Temperance Band was formed in 1984 and quickly made a name for itself winning the 2006 International Masters. The band won the 2009 Yorkshire Area Championship and most recently is the winner of the 2015 Grand Shield.
