According to a recent survey conducted by Vue, friends, wives and husbands are no longer considered the perfect cinema date – kids came out on top as the best companion for mum and dad for trips to the big screen. 47% of Leeds parents said that their kids are their top choice over friends and other halves.
It’s clear that cinema trips with the family are becoming more popular and considered as a great place to spend some good quality time with the kids: 34% of Leeds parents said that they visit the cinema more often now than they did when they were children. And 76% of parents in the area admit that they think more of their children when planning day trips than themselves.
Codie Entwistle, Film Content Manager at Vue Entertainment commented, “Going to the cinema has always been a popular pastime for children. When we asked parents what activities their children enjoy doing, 70% said visiting the cinema. Around 51% said that the big screen makes them feel happy and excited, so with this half term heading to your local Vue should definitely be on the agenda!”
